PREMIER NATIONAL JUNIOR BROWN SWISS SHOW
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 | Equine Arena | Judge – Laurie Winkelman, Appleton, Wisconsin
Eligibility: Junior must have been
9 by January 1, 2011 and not
yet be 20 years old by the same
day. Thus a person must have
been born during the years 1991
through 2001.
For an animal to be exhibited as
Junior owned, the animal must
be registered in the juniors name
prior to the animal’s second birthday.
If an animal is purchased by
a junior member, after the animal
is two years old, that animal must
have been owned by the junior
for at least one year, based on the
sale date, before it can be shown
as a junior owned animal. Animals
that are leased through the
National Brown Swiss Lease Program
are also eligible to be shown
by juniors. Partnerships are not
allowed, nor are animals owned
by the farm.
Procedures To Be Completed Before
the Show
Check your premium book. Special
entries may be required for
the junior show in addition to normal
open division entries.
A representative of the national
association will check the registration
papers for junior exhibited
animals the day before the show.
This is in addition to the “checkin”
done by Show Management.
To compete for production awards,
the production records must be
submitted to the national office
at least two weeks prior to show
date.
Each junior will receive a shirt to
wear when showing in the junior
show.
Showing: The junior who owns
or leases the animal is to show
her. If the owner cannot attend
the show, another National Brown
Swiss Association junior member
of the same age or younger may
show the animal. Also, in a class
where a junior member owns
more than one animal, another
National Brown Swiss junior Member
of the same age or younger
may show the second animal.
If for some reason the junior is
having trouble showing the animal,
another junior may assist but
the junior owner must continue to
accompany the animal.
Any animal sold or exhibited as
registered by the Brown Swiss
