industry stalwart Herman Rutgers has been<br />
named new FIBO ambassador – the latest<br />
sign of the increasingly close collaboration<br />
seen between the industry body and the<br />
health and fitness trade show.<br />
Rutgers has more than 35 years’<br />
international business experience and<br />
served as the first executive director of the<br />
European Health & Fitness Association (now<br />
EuropeActive). Working on behalf of FIBO,<br />
he’ll contribute his expertise to strengthen<br />

Sarah Edmonds has been promoted to<br />
director of quality and standards for Active<br />
IQ, just four months after joining parent<br />
company Premier Global.<br />
Edmonds was announced in June as the<br />
new head of standards and compliance<br />
for Premier Global – comprised of both<br />
Premier Training International and Active<br />
IQ – having previously been interim head<br />
of CYQ at Central YMCA Qualifications.<br />
At the time, Edmonds was hailed as a<br />
valuable acquisition thanks to her 20 years’<br />

Chris Brown swaps FitLinxx for PHS<br />

Systems (PHS) has appointed Chris Brown<br />
as the new head of healthcare and medical<br />
for its Power Plate and bioDensity brands.<br />
Brown is tasked with identifying<br />
opportunities and managing sales in the<br />

Fitness (BMF) has announced the appointment<br />
of Mark Wood as its new head training tutor.<br />
Wood joined BMF five years ago as an<br />
instructor – having trained at Discovery<br />
Learning in West London – and has quickly<br />
corporate wellness, elderly care and medical<br />
markets. He is expected to expand distribution<br />
of the company’s vibration training machine<br />
Power Plate, as well as introduce and sell the<br />
bioDensity osteogenic loading system – a<br />
piece of technology that helps rebuild bone<br />
density among people affected by osteoporosis<br />
– as it makes its debut in the UK market.<br />
Brown joins from FitLinxx where he spent<br />
almost 10 years, most recently serving as<br />
director for its business development within<br />
international health and wellness markets.<br />
“The technological advances achieved<br />
by PHS are very exciting and I believe we<br />
can ultimately deliver measurable health<br />
improvements to those who most need it,”<br />
said Brown, who will be based at the PHS UK<br />
head office in London. “My job is to introduce<br />
these opportunities to healthcare and medical<br />
experts whose skills, combined with our<br />
