Children’s ponies CHILDREN’S PONIES Ponies entered in Classes 56-61 may not be entered in any other Classes. Ponies not in possession of a JMB current measurement certificate issued in Northern Ireland or a current SJAI or IPS measurement certificate or a certificate issued or approved by the FEI or issued by a National Federation affiliated to the FEI or a certificate issued by a Society or Scheme approved by such National Federation will be measured by a veterinary surgeon on duty before entering the judging area. See Regulation 107. RIDDEN PONIES Ponies entered in Classes 58-61 will not be eligible to also enter in Classes 62-65 and will only be required in the Showgrounds on Friday, 13th May. There will be no loose boxes available for the use of competitors. Entries will be limited to the first 20 received in each class. All children with ponies entered in Classes 58-61 may be asked to unsaddle, saddle and lead their ponies unassisted. All ponies in Classes 56 & 57 to be shown in snaffle bridle i.e. single ring snaffle. Ponies entered in class 58 will not be eligible for the Ridden Pony Championship and may not be entered in any other class. Balmoral Show is a Qualifier for the Ponies (UK) Championship to be held at Newark & Notts Showgrounds in August 2011. The highest placed exhibit not already qualified within the first six places will qualify in class 56-61. CLASS 56 PONY, MARE or GELDING, [Lead Rein] 4 years old and over, not exceeding 123cms. Riders not to have attained their 7th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Ponies must be led by persons aged 16 years and over and should be on a loose rein and will be required to trot. All competitors in Class 56 will receive a Rosette. Riders in this class may not ride in any other class at this Show. 57 PONY, MARE or GELDING, [First Ridden] 4 years old and over, not exceeding 123cms, suitable for and to be ridden by children who have not attained their 10th birthday before 1st January in the current year. No cantering allowed except for individual performances. Please note that Riders in Class 57 cannot ride in any other class except class 56. ENTRIES CLOSE WEDNESDAY 2nd MARCH 22

Riders must be the correct age for the height of the pony they are riding. 59 PONY, MARE or GELDING, 4 years old and over, not exceeding 128cms. Riders not to have attained their 13th birthday before 1st January in the current year. 60 PONY, MARE or GELDING, 4 years old and over, exceeding 128cms and not exceeding 138cms. Riders not to have attained their 15th birthday before 1st January in the current year. 61 PONY, MARE or GELDING, 4 years old and over, over 138cms and not exceeding 148cms. Riders not to have attained their 17th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Specials S38 CHAMPION PRIZES, £50 and £25 - for the Champion and Reserve Champion in Classes 59-60. Presented by the Society. S39 THE E PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP - for the best Pony in Classes 59-61. S40 THE CALWELL PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP - for the best Pony in Class 60. S42 COMMENDATION - At the judge’s discretion, a commendation and £25 may be awarded from the John Kirkpatrick legacy to an exhibitor in classes 56 to 61, who has demonstrated a noteworthy degree of empathy with his/her mount.
