24 Singapore Land Limited - Annual Report 2012 MANAGEMENT REVIEW Marina Square Shopping Mall Mandarin Oriental Singapore SINGAPORE COMMERCIAL RETAIL PROPERTIES MARINA SQUARE SHOPPING MALL With over 640,000 square feet of net lettable retail space, Marina Square Shopping Mall offers a broad mix of tenants offering a diverse selection of shopping, dining and entertainment options. Adding to the array of major international fashion brands like Zara, Mango, Desigual and Massimo Dutti, is British label, Marks & Spencer which opened a 20,000 square foot duplex store in September 2012. Another new addition to the mall is well-known bath and beauty brand from Israel – Laline. The opening of these international labels reinforces Marina Square Shopping Mall’s position as a prime shopping destination within the Marina Bay area. The draw of food and beverage outlets in Marina Square remains strong with Paradise Inn, making its entry. Shoppers can look forward to even more enticing dining options with a revamped Gourmet Zone which is slated for completion in the second quarter of 2013. During the year, the mall held several fun and exciting promotional activities. In March, the mall displayed the largest 3-Dimensional Balloon Sculpture at the atrium. The balloon sculpture constructed in the shape of a robot, measured 19 by 23 metres and used more than 79,854 balloons, was accorded the “Largest 3D Balloon Sculpture” in the Guinness World Records and the “Largest Single Sculpture Made of Balloons” in the Singapore Book of Records. This event won Best Retail Event 2012 organised by the Singapore Retailers Association.

Within the Marina Bay area where the 3 Marina Square hotels (Pan Pacifi c Singapore, Marina Mandarin Singapore and Mandarin Oriental Singapore) are located, new tourist attractions such as the Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands, have successfully attracted an increased number of visitors from around the world to this precinct. Marina Mandarin and Mandarin Oriental benefi ted from the strong visitor arrivals into Singapore, recording strong occupancies and rate growth. Pan Pacifi c Singapore embarked on a multi-million dollar transformation in April 2012 and was re-opened in September 2012. The transformed Pan Pacifi c Singapore features a spectacular new lobby and an exclusive Pacifi c Club which has been relocated to the top fl oor of the hotel with stunning view of the city skyline. The renovated guestrooms encompass a perfect mix of comfort, elegant design and useful technology in a contemporary palette of colours and materials. A vibrant dining experience awaits at the new all-day dining restaurant, Edge, featuring seven distinct regional open kitchens. Hai Tien Lo re-opened at its new location on Level 3, serving well-known favourites with a contemporary interpretation.
