Team X will start the work with a collective workshop/charrete that will include a site
visit, processing all the information and sharing our experience and expertise for the
project. A succession of workshops between the design team and Navy Pier will
provide the main framework for communication and interac- tion to set the basic
parameters for the project. As the project develops the workshops will become more
specific.
We believe that our team has the capacity, the creativity and the experience necessary
to propose a de- sign that strikes the right balance between goals, ambitions,
creativity and reality. We believe that working together as a team, we can translate
design concepts into a feasible project that achieves the goals set forth in The
Centennial Vision, meets the needs of the businesses that comprise Navy Pier, and
improves the experience for the Pier’s visitors.
We believe Pierscape can be an extraordinary experience for all kinds of visitors:
a magical place: like Josehp Cornell’s magical boxes: simple, everyday
objects transformed into treasures by virtue of new relationships and surprising
juxtapositions.
Sometimes during the design process we will imagine that we are in our minds inside
a Joseph Cornell box.
