Camp Palo Alto for Preschoolers
Make your own edible jewelry, sing silly songs at the top of
your lungs, learn how to swim with new friends at the local
pool...this is what summer is all about! Campers will engage
in age appropriate activities that revolve around interesting
themes and include engaging outdoor games, swim lessons
at Rinconada pool (every Tuesday and Thursday), creative
arts and crafts projects, exciting mini field trips, and more.

Aidan “Waffle” Sundstrom
Aidan, the 2012 Foothills Day Camp
Site Director, started attending Foothills
Camp when he was 7 years
old, and has returned every summer
since then. He just graduated from
UCSC with a BA in History and
has been accepted in the Santa
Clara University Teaching Credential
program:
“When I first started attending Foothills
Camp as a camper, I remember
my favorite things to do were singing on the bus (I still know
every single song!), and just being outdoors, hiking around
Foothills Park. As soon as I turned 13 (and could no longer
attend camp as a camper) I was accepted into the Counselor
in Training program for Foothills Camp, and a couple years
later was hired as a Foothills Camp Counselor…I couldn’t
stay away!
I enjoy working with younger kids and that is the main
reason I continue to come back year after year. Many of
these kids don’t have a lot of opportunities to play outside
during the year, so to be able to show them around Foothills
and help develop that love of the great outdoors…it’s
just very fulfilling.”
Foothills Day Camp
Celebrating 55 years of creating lifelong friends, long lasting
memories, and a deep respect and love of nature, Foothills
Day Camp is back for another incredible summer in the great
outdoors. Campers will participate in weekly activities that
revolve around interesting themes and include engaging outdoor
games, exciting hikes, hands-on activities with wildlife,
canoeing in Boronda lake, and more. NEW in 2013: Each session
includes pre and post camp, which means you can drop
your child off anytime between 7:30am-8:45am, and pick your
child up anytime between 4-6pm. Additionally, campers will
spend the second Thursday sleeping under a blanket of stars
at Camp Towle for the ultimate “campout” experience. Night
activities include a delicious BBQ, animated storytelling by our
seasoned camp staff, a thrilling night hike, and memories for a
lifetime. Campers should be dropped off by 8:45am at the Girl
Scout House for the bus ride to Foothills Park daily. Visit our
