Bugün Amasra’nın üzerinde
oturduğu iki ada hala bir Roma
köprüsü ile birbirine bağlanıyor.
‘Kemere’ ya da günümüzde
Boztepe Kemeri olarak anılan bu taş
köprü, kentte yürünecek belki de
en heyecanlı bölümü oluşturuyor.
Müze, çarşı ve yemek
19’uncu yüzyıla tarihlenen bir
Osmanlı yapısında hizmet veren
Amasra Müzesi, arkeolojik
ve etnografik eserleriyle göz
dolduruyor. Müzenin en önemli
parçaları arasında yer alan M.S.
2’nci yüzyıldan kalma Zırhlı
İmparator Torsosu , zengin amfora
koleksiyonu ile Osmanlı döneminin
zarif eşyaları görülmeye değer.
Amasra’nın Çekiciler Çarşısı’nda her
türlü turistik eşya bulmak mümkün
ama en önemlisi 300 yıldır aralıksız
sürdürülen, ‘tel kırma’ geleneği ile
işlenmiş muhteşem örtüleri.
Amasra’da geçirilecek bir tatil,
lezzet açısından da unutulmayacak
tadlar bırakacaktır geride. Balık,
balık ve yine balık.. Tabii yanında
‘olmazsa olmaz’ı, Amasra Salatası
ile birlikte...

Traces of three civilizations
on its castle
Amasra Castle was first built by
Romans. Front walls and gates
were added by the Genoese to the
walls that rose up in Byzantine
period.
Today, the two islands where
Amasra is situated are still linked
with a Roman bridge. Referred to
as “Kemere” or Boztepe Kemeri
today, this stone bridge is perhaps
the most exciting section of the city
to walk on.
Museum, market and food
Amasra Museum which is
situated on an Ottoman building
dating back to 19 th century
is an attractive museum
with archaeological and
ethnographical artefacts. One
of the most important items
of the museum, the Torso of an
Armored Emperor from 2 nd century
BC and the rich collection of
amphora along with elegant items
of Ottoman period are all worth
seeing. It is possible to find all
sorts of touristic items in Amasra’s
Çekiciler Marker but the most
important one is the magnificent
garments trimmed in “wire
breaking” tradition which has been
going on for 300 years without any
interruptions.
A holiday to be spent in Amasra
will also leave behind unforgettable
tastes in terms of food. Fish, fish
and fish again... And of course,
accompanied with its must-have
sidekick, Amasra Salad...
