Don’t Dance with the Philippine Government
How many EDSA’s did we have Three, and do you want to go on to the fourth
fifth This will go endless. Stop ranting. So shut up. Listen and think on the real
scenario. Is our case the worst case in the history of governance No. In this point
of time, not yet. We worry much on the corruption and greed of the elected officials.
But look at this, we don’t worry much if we got something “extra” from
our tuition. Don’t lose hope yet. We still can change the turnout of events. We
can change it by ourselves. Idealistic, isn’t it But there are simple things. Follow
simple rules in traffic, school and in society. Keep Right, No Entry, No U-turn,
and No Left Turn are some of them. If it says, No Entry, then you shouldn’t
get in. Even, falling in line in drinking water, clearance signing, and paying dues
should be followed. It won’t hurt if you follow these rules. Don’t answer me that
rules won’t hurt much if you don’t follow these too.
Stop Global Warming!
Hey, the doomsayers said that we only have few
years left to linger on this planet. I think Hollywood
has given enough samples for apocalypse
- those aliens saving the world, tsunamis,
and endless winter nights that could freeze the
entire New York City etc. You know what; it’s
not just global warming. It’s global warning! It’s
not too late though. There’s still H-O-P-E we
can cling unto. We can take part in Earth Hour,
cleanliness drives in our local communities like
cleaning beaches, canals, and rivers. Recycle if
you have to. Bring your own bayong instead of
asking for plastic bags when going to the market.
If you want show some love, get out of
your house, move your body, and sweat for the
environment.
Worry no more, A(H1N1)
This pandemic is not as worse as we can imagine. This won’t transform us to witless
zombies scavenging for fellow humans to eat and tear. Take note, it’s not as
bad as dengue. But this doesn’t mean that you can just roam around without minding
your own health. Don’t buy the popularity rating as courtesy from the endless
media hype. Blame it to the endless search for the popularity rating of the TV
networks. Put in mind that this isn’t the only problem that the country is facing
right now. There are more significant societal issues clogging in the country like
economic recession, the CHA-CHA or ConAss, 2010 Elections, higher tuition fee
etc. Just don’t PANIC!
70% Passing Rate, Chicken
Cram. You’re doing this every time there are quizzes – ambushed or announced,
exams, overdue assignments and projects. If you’ll flunk, remember the lines from
a famous noodle commercial, “Anong sabi ni Nanay Tomorrow’s another day!” Anyway,
you have your time, money and effort to spend. Make sure that if you overstay at
school, you have used all the facilities and got your money’s worth.
I may sound cheesy to quote this line from a song “smile though your heart
is breaking”. Optimism will help people realize and believe in themselves, in
people around them, and dream. But don’t just smile or laugh without any
reasons at all because that’s the other story.
