Philippines is commonly known as the “Pearl of the East”. This is the reason
why foreigners are eager to invade our country. Decades passed when
the Philippines suffered from the invasion of different nations – Spaniards,
Japanese, Americans among others. They brought disasters not only to the
properties of the Filipinos but also traumatic events.
June 12, 1898 marked the day of the Filipino freedom declared by Emilio
Aguinaldo – Philippine Independence. In a layman’s term, independence is
simply freedom - freedom from cruel invaders, freedom from enemies and
freedom to inherit and cultivate the land where Filipinos born and live.
Now let’s take a look to the following viewpoints of young Lasallian students
on the 111th Independence of the Philippines. Let’s also figure out if these
students still remember the national heroes who saved our country fromconquerors.
The bottom-line is do students still remember how we achieve
this freedom Do students of the modern times recognized the people who
once sacrificed their lives for the nation’s sake Come, let’s meet these young
students.
