Peggy Dozsa married Michael
Sullivan on Oct. 14 in Baltimore.
Attending were Becky Foley Canelli,
Lisa Schneider, Leigh Conrad, and
Peggy’s dad, John Dozsa ’63. Peggy
and Michael own a home outside of
Baltimore and have two Italian
greyhounds, Bella and Sofie.

Ryann Dubiel is engaged
2004 to Jonathan Nickerson
(Colby, 2004; Lehigh, 2007). The
couple, who lives in Denver, plans to
wed Sept. 1 in Gloucester, Mass. Ryann
was promoted to communications and
organizing director at an education
and public policy nonprofit that works
with Latina youth and focuses on
reproductive justice. She accepted
a 2012 fellowship with a statewide
progressive leadership institute.
Danielle Fecso Bartko and husband
Bob had their first child, Anna Veronika,
on Aug. 31, 2010 (see photo online).
Danielle was hired as a varsity pitching
and junior varsity head softball coach
at Upper St. Clair High School in
Pittsburgh. For the past four years,
she has taught middle school math
and science at Three Hierarchs Eastern
Orthodox School in Pittsburgh.
Jessica Merkel-Keller is a resident
in the psychiatry department at Johns
Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, with
a research focus in mood and
affective disorders.
Kristen Logar is engaged to Lee
William Kleckner (Lehigh); a Sept. 29
wedding is planned. Kristen graduated
from Rutgers University School of Law.
Jennifer White was promoted to
assistant athletic director of compliance
and student services at Temple University.
She earned her master’s in sports
management from Neumann College
in May 2007.
Justin Pettigrew married Danielle
Goshert on July 30, 2011, in Wilmington,
Del. (see photo online). Attending
were best man Chris Holland, Greg
Gibbs ’05, John-Frank Stubits ’05,
Wes Erbe ’05, Joe Ungrady ’05, and
Brian “Bo” Carstens ’05. Justin works at
NuVasive as a spine specialist, and
Danielle is a hospital account manager
for Otsuka Pharmaceuticals. They live
in Clarks Green, Pa.
Stephanie Stawicki expects to receive
her master’s in development practice
(international development) with a
specialization in water governance and
management from Emory University
this August. She interned with CARE
International in Atlanta and Addis Ababa,
Ethiopia. This summer, Stephanie expects
to complete her final field practicum
in Burkina Faso and Ghana with
International Water Management
Institute. After graduation, she hopes to
obtain a job in federal, emerging market,
or international development consulting.
Tom Gauntner was voted Mid-
Atlantic Collegiate Fencing Association
(MACFA) Coach of the Year for the
second time in his five-year career at
Lafayette. The team’s final record
was 20–12. Three fencers qualified
for individual finals of MACFA
championships, while nine qualified
for the NCAA Tournament.
M.K. Asante was featured speaker at
the 17th Annual Salem State University
Black Symposium. Author of three
celebrated books, M.K. is a recipient of
the Langston Hughes Award. He also
directed The Black Candle, a film he
co-wrote with renowned poet Maya
Angelou, who narrates the prizewinning
film. M.K. wrote and produced 500
Years Later, winner of five international
film festival awards as well as the United
Nations’ Breaking the Chains award.
Elizabeth “Texas” Schaefer lives in
Washington, D.C., with Melissa
Grandis. Liz is a U.S. history teacher at
Paul Public Charter School and happily
adopted a lively dog named Peanut.
Alex Karapetian married Leslie
Azarian (George Washington, 2004)
on Nov. 19 in Manhattan (see photos
online). Leslie is a director within
institutional securities operations at
Morgan Stanley in Brooklyn, for which
she manages a team that oversees
account reference data. Alex is director
of sales and marketing at Acopian
Technical Company, a family-owned
company in Easton that manufactures
commercial power conductors. There
was a large Lafayette presence to
celebrate their big day.

Jillian Carpenter was
sworn in last June as a
N.J. deputy attorney general. She is
assigned to the financial and computer
crimes bureau. Jillian also became
engaged in May 2011 to a Lehigh
graduate, Matt Krantz. Their wedding
is set for Sept. 22 in Princeton, N.J.
Emily James O’Connor and Jess
Stake ’06 are bridesmaids.
Peter Gray is engaged to Kara
Cotich (Union College, 2004). The
couple plans to wed in May in southern
Maine. Pete completed his MBA at
Boston University with high honors and
works in financial planning and analysis
at Bain & Company in Boston.
Barbara Woodfin graduated from
University of Tulsa with a Ph.D. in
English literature. Her dissertation was
“Disarranging the Interlude”: Transitional
Subjects in British Women’s Fiction
(1927-1949). She is engaged to Zachary
Waxman (University of Missouri, 2005;
University of Tulsa Law, 2009), a
practicing attorney in Oklahoma. The
couple bought their first house in Tulsa.
Andrew Segan and LeAnn
Dourte ’05 are engaged. They plan
to marry Aug. 3 in Lancaster, Pa. After
earning a master’s in cell and molecular
biology at University of Pennsylvania,
Andrew worked briefly at Lankenau
Hospital as a research assistant. He moved
into medical communications and was
promoted to project manager at Synergy
Medical Education. In October, LeAnn
finished her Ph.D.in bioengineering at
Penn and stayed on as a teaching professor.
The couple lives in Haverford, Pa.
