<strong>Groupe</strong> <strong>URD</strong> (Urgence – Réhabilitation – Développement)<br />
provides support <strong>to</strong> the humanitarian and post-crisis sec<strong>to</strong>r. It aims <strong>to</strong> improve humanitarian<br />
practices <strong>in</strong> favour of people affected by crises via several activities: operational research,<br />
programme evaluations, the production of methodological <strong>to</strong>ols, provid<strong>in</strong>g organizational<br />
support and tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g, <strong>in</strong> France and abroad.<br />
About the authors<br />
Charlotte Dufour is a Nutrition and Food security specialist. She began work<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> <strong>Afghanistan</strong><br />
<strong>in</strong> January 2000, work<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> various sec<strong>to</strong>rs (Health, Agriculture and Rural Development) with<br />
different organisations (Action Contre la Faim, <strong>Groupe</strong> <strong>URD</strong>, FAO, the M<strong>in</strong>istry of Public Health<br />
and the M<strong>in</strong>istry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Lives<strong>to</strong>ck).<br />
Domitille Kauffmann is an agronomist who specialises <strong>in</strong> Nutrition and Food security. S<strong>in</strong>ce<br />
2006, she has carried out numerous missions <strong>in</strong> <strong>Afghanistan</strong>, work<strong>in</strong>g for different<br />
organisations <strong>in</strong> the Nutrition, Agriculture and Rural Development sec<strong>to</strong>rs, among which was a<br />
study for the UNODC on opium poppy cultiva<strong>to</strong>rs <strong>in</strong> the prov<strong>in</strong>ce of Badakhshan.<br />
François Grünewald, General Direc<strong>to</strong>r of <strong>Groupe</strong> <strong>URD</strong> has been <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> a number of<br />
projects on the issue of drug production <strong>in</strong> South-East Asia and <strong>Afghanistan</strong>.<br />
