(A). Push Rod<br />

- Pull up the push rod (A) slowly.<br />

- At this time, the fork oil comes out of the push rod hole, let it<br />

overflow until it stops.<br />

- Put the fork spring (1) into the fork tube.<br />

- Pull down the fork spring and insert the spring holder (5) (special<br />

tool) under the push rod nut or piston holder.<br />

- Install the top cap bolt (3) on the top of the fork tube and tighten<br />

it to 29 N-m. (21 ft.lbs).<br />

- Repeat on other fork.<br />

- Install removed parts.<br />

Fork Springs<br />

(1). Spring<br />

(2). Locknut<br />

(3). Suspension cap<br />

(4). Cap Wrench<br />

(5). Lock nut wrench<br />

Different fork springs are available to achieve suitable front fork<br />

action in accordance with the rider´s weight and track conditions.<br />

- Harder springs make the fork stiffer, and rebound action quicker.<br />

- Softer sprigs make the fork softer, and rebound action slower.<br />

Fork Clamp Position Adjustment<br />

Steering qualities are greatly affected by the fork clamp position (the<br />

amount of the outer tube projecting above the steering stem head).<br />

When the fork tube height is smaller, the front end becomes lighter<br />

due to change in weight bias. Also, it tends to understeer in turns<br />

at «whash out». When the height is greater, the results are opposite.Be<br />

sure the front tire doesn´t rub the fender when the fork tubes compress<br />

fully. Make this adjustment in 5mm increments.<br />

CAUTION<br />

The outer tubes, both right and left, should be adjusted evenly.
