purlin and in accordance with the metal building manufacturer's<br />

recommendationsl.<br />

3.2.6.2 Wall Insulation<br />

Install over girts be<strong>for</strong>e wall coverings are applied. Hold insulation<br />

rigid until secured in place. Expose facing toward the interior side of<br />

the building. Fold and staple facing tabs of insulation on G-inch centers,<br />

from exterior side of building, to completely s<strong>ea</strong>l joints. If folding and<br />

stapling can only be accomplished from the inside, push the tabs n<strong>ea</strong>tly up<br />

between the edges of adjoining blankets [, and cover side laps of<br />

insulation with metal strips <strong>for</strong>med <strong>for</strong> this purpose and paint to match the<br />

facing material. Install the strips spanning from girt to girt and in<br />

accordance with the metal building manufacturer's recommendations].<br />

3.3 FIELD PAINTING<br />

Immediately upon detection, abraded or corroded spots on shop-painted<br />

surfaces shall be wire brushed and touched up with the same color and<br />

material used <strong>for</strong> the shop coat. Section 09900, "Paints and Coatings," <strong>for</strong><br />

painting of shop-primed ferrous surfaces exposed on the outside of the<br />

building and all shop-primed surfaces of doors and windows.<br />

3.4 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL<br />

At the discretion of the Contracting Officer, sample panels may be taken at<br />

random from <strong>ea</strong>ch delivery or from stockpiles on the site at any time during<br />

the construction period, and tests may be made to check the con<strong>for</strong>mance of<br />

the materials to the requirements specified in paragraph entitled "Factory<br />

Color Finish." Failure of the sample sheets to pass the required tests<br />

shall be cause <strong>for</strong> rejection of all sheets represented by the samples and<br />

replacement of the entire shipment.<br />
