49 Diploma in Food Inspection The mission of the Diploma Food Inspection program is to prepare UAE nationals for careers as food inspectors and to be competent in all fields related to food inspection. The comprehensive education provided deals with food processing, food laws and regulations, food chemistry, microbiology and food safety and hygiene. Consistent with the HCT mission, this program is structured to support and develop essential qualities of caring, accountability, a credible work ethic, critical thinking, problem solving, leadership and effective interpersonal relationships. Additionally, graduates from this program will possess the linguistic ability and the technical skills to become fully competent and professional food inspectors. BACHELOR PROGRAMS BUSINESS Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Administration The mission of this program is to produce graduates capable of functioning effectively in management or supervisory positions in a variety of organization contexts and business settings. Business graduates find their skills are highly sought after by many UAE organizations. Graduates can expect to work in a wide range of industries and organizations within the public and private sectors, including banks, accountancy firms, property companies, the aviation industry, oil and gas companies, the government, information technology firms, or opt to become entrepreneurs. There are eight specialized Business majors plus a generic Business Administration major which allows students who do not wish to pursue a specific career pathway to select available courses from the eight majors. This is a new and improved degree with three common years for Business students across all of the HCT campuses with the fourth year major specific. This degree offers seamless transfer between HCT campuses and allows students who need to take a leave of absence for a semester or two to rejoin the program without complications. HEALTH SCIENCES Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science The mission of the HD/BAS in Medical Laboratory Science is to prepare biomedical scientists in the field of laboratory medicine. The program encourages the conduct of high quality research, especially in the search for knowledge correlating to UAE priorities. Graduates will have a solid foundation and will be prepared to enter

Graduates will be prepared with continued experience to take on leadership roles, and pursue post graduate education. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Information Technology The mission of the Business Information Technology Bachelor of Applied Science program is to educate Higher Diploma graduates who are nationals of the United Arab Emirates in advanced skills, knowledge and practice of information technology in order to prepare them as IT Specialists with a focus on business applications. The program will promote English communication, leadership, teamwork, critical thinking and problem solving so that graduates can work effectively as IT specialists in an international environment with the adaptability to respond to opportunities in the rapidly evolving field of information and communication technologies. ENGINEERING Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering Technology The mission of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering Technology is to prepare students for positions as Engineers in the petroleum, power generation and related sectors. Expertise acquired includes the applied design, development and implementation of plant manufacturing and processing systems, and the supervision of related technical activities and projects. Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering Technology The mission of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering Technology program is to prepare students for positions as Engineers in communications, process control and instrumentation sectors. Expertise acquired includes the applied design, development and implementation of electrical systems, and the supervision of related technical activities and projects. Bachelor of Applied Science in Electronics Engineering Technology The mission of Bachelor of Applied Science in Electronics Engineering and Technology program is to prepare students for positions as Engineers in communications, process control and instrumentation sectors. Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology The Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Technology program prepares students for positions as Engineers with the knowledge, problem solving ability, and hands-on skills to enter careers in the design, installation, manufacturing, testing, evaluation and maintenance of mechanical systems. Graduates will typically have strengths in the analysis, applied design, development and implementation of mechanical systems and processes.
