There are 20 operating rooms at the Moses Division and 14 at the Einstein Division including
one lithotripsy and one cystoscopy suite. O.R. time is available to surgeons on a block and
"open-time" basis. Block schedules may be obtained through the O.R. scheduling office at each
site. Block schedules are subject to modification as the
utilization of allocated time is reviewed. 24 hours-per- day, 7 days- per- week coverage of the
operating rooms is provided at each site. Specialty call coverage for specific services is also
available. Patients may be scheduled for surgery by the attending physician's office through the
O.R. scheduling office Monday through Friday between 9 A.M. and 5:30 P.M. When an elective
case is scheduled, complete patient demographic information is required. Emergency cases may
be scheduled through the O.R. charge nurse. At Moses, call ext. 4491 and at Einstein call ext.
2798.
If an elective patient needs to be seen by an anesthesiologist you must request a preadmission
testing appointment at that time. Patients presenting for surgery must have a complete history
and physical within seven days of the planned procedure. The consent tool must be complete
and written in lay terms. The words right and left as well as the spinal levels must be written in
entirety.
On the day of surgery, adult ambulatory surgery and same day admission patients will be
directed to arrive at the Moses 3 North Surgery Center. All pediatric ambulatory and same day
admissions patients will be directed to arrive at the CHAM 3 Day Hospital.
At Weiler, all patients will be instructed to arrive at the surgery center in the Lubin building on
the 2nd floor. Ambulatory surgery patients will be discharged from the respective second stage
recovery areas.
