Asia<br />

The projected audience reach in Asia totalled 56.8 million individuals 7 ; the third highest of<br />

any region. However based on a lower reach condition of viewers watching just 3 consecutive<br />

minutes of coverage, Asia generated the highest reach of any region, at 121.5 million.<br />

China alone contributed well over half (57%; 32.2 million 7 ) of the reach in the region 7 , largely<br />

thanks to their late night coverage each day regularly attracting average audiences of more<br />

than one million viewers and often average audiences of more than two million.<br />

In addition, China generated among the highest in-home reaches of any territory around the<br />

globe. Based on viewers watching a minimum of 20 consecutive minutes of coverage, the<br />

Chinese reach only ranks behind Germany (42.5m) and the USA (37.4m), while based on<br />

viewers watching a minimum of 3 consecutive minutes of coverage China generated the<br />

highest reach of any territory (87.8m).<br />

Elsewhere, audience reach exceeded 22 million in Japan 7 ; inside the top five highest reach<br />

figures of all territories. Combined with China, these two territories accounted for 96% of the<br />

total reach in Asia 7 .<br />

Fuji TV 11 in Japan achieved the highest audiences in the region, with an average of over 5.1<br />

million individuals tuning in to each programme; second only to ZDF in the host market of<br />

Germany of any channel average from around the world.<br />

Among the average generated by Fuji TV 11 was an average audience of over 10.4 million,<br />

which was produced for their coverage of the Final match. This ranks as the highest audience<br />

of any programme aired around the world outside of Germany and the USA.<br />

Apart from Fuji TV 11 , CCTV-5 21 in China as well as NHK 1 BS 22 in Japan attracted peak average<br />

audiences of over 2.6 million during the event.<br />
