Introduction<br />
The FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany 2011 TM took place from 26 June to 17 July and<br />
featured 16 football nations from around the globe.<br />
The list of competing nations was:<br />
Group A Group B Group C Group D<br />
Germany Japan USA Brazil<br />
Canada New Zealand Korea DPR Australia<br />
Nigeria Mexico Colombia Norway<br />
France England Sweden Equatorial Guinea<br />
Each of the teams played three group-stage matches, before the top two teams in each<br />
group progressed to the Quarter-final stage. The games took place at nine venues across<br />
Germany, including stadiums in Berlin, Frankfurt, Moenchengladbach, Sinsheim, Wolfsburg,<br />
Augsburg, Bochum, Dresden and Leverkusen.<br />
The FIFA Women’s World Cup Stadium in Frankfurt played host to the Final match between<br />
Japan and USA, where Japan were victorious after a penalty shoot-out.<br />
