de Lancellotti family vineyard is the result of a growing family dedicated to world
class Pinot Noir. Our vineyards sits on the Calkins Lane Bench of the land on
Chehalem Mountain. We farm our vineyard using holistic Demeter® certified biodynamic
practices creating wines of great elegance and character from these ancient
sedimentary soils. Living on our land, our goal is to serve as stewards as other families
have lived and farmed before us with respect and love for generations to come!
Pinot Noir Estate
$59.99
Per bottle
“The 2008 Pinot Noir Estate was also fermented with native yeasts and spent 18 months in 20% new
barrels. It gives up a splendid bouquet of smoke, Asian spices, incense, black cherry, and black raspberry
leading to a rich, loaded, layered Pinot with superb volume, intensity, and length. It will reward 2-3 years
of cellaring and will offer a drinking window extending from 2013 to 2023. Paul De Lancellotti’s 17.5
acres of vineyard is fully planted out and biodynamically certified.” Wine Advocate, rated 93/100
“Sexy bouquet of raspberry, cherry-cola and potpourri, with subtle woodsmoke and anise qualities in the
background. A juicy, spicy midweight that offers sweet red and dark berry flavors and a zesty mineral
spine. Darker fruits come up on the finish, which lingers with impressive juicy persistence. Very attractive
right now but has the balance to reward another four to six years of bottle aging, at a minimum.” Steve
Tanzer, rated 92/100
“Complex aromas of dried lavender and rose petals, fresh garden soil, and sweet dark red fruits are a
little tough to parse at first because of the appealing unity of the whole, but with time each element begins
to show its own character in the nose. Equally involved in the mouth, flavors of ripe cranberry, plum red
cherry, and strawberry give a satisfying sense of fruit-sweetness, yet more spice and earth notes of mushroom,
forest floor, and celery seed underlie the fruit with a more earthy essence. Great acidity and subtle
tannins give balance. The finish is fresh, and intriguing notes of tangerine peel provide a pleasing sense
of lift to the whole. This is a bright and fresh Pinot Noir that could be paired with pancetta-wrapped
chicken, or saved in the cellar for future enjoyment.” Northwest Palate, rated Stellar Selection, Three
Grapes Clusters
$59.99
Per bottle
“…an expressive bouquet of smoke, minerals, damp earth, spice box, cherry, and raspberry. Moderately
structured on the palate with excellent depth and savory fruit, this lengthy, substantial Pinot will evolve
for 2-3 years and drink well from 2011 to 2019.” Wine Advocate, rated 92/100
“Firm in texture, with raspberry and strawberry flavors rolling easily over a bed of fine tannins, picking
up floral and bay leaf notes as the finish lingers. 250 cases made.” Wine Spectator, rated 91/100
Paul & Kendlall De Lancellotti and Family
his is the model estate for a family-owned vineyard—a great family, a great
“Tdomaine, a great terroir, and great wines. While the father and son, as well as
the other 500 years or so of Chaves who have made wines from the hallowed hills of
Hermitage, may be world-class tasters, superb chefs, and gifted storytellers, the fact
remains that Gérard Chave and, increasingly, his talented young son, Jean-Louis, are
among the staunchest guardians of terroir, and artisanal/artistic winemaking in
France. The humility with which they go about their business (mere custodians of
privileged spots on Earth is how they look at it) is refreshing, particularly in a world
dominated by greed and an industrial wine culture. They make exquisite red and
white Hermitage as well as small amounts of St. Joseph. In the finest vintages, Chave
produces tiny amounts of a super-expensive luxury cuvée called Chatelin.” Wine
Robert Karl Cellars
Claret Horse
Heaven Hills
One of the most consistent and classic wines in the Northwest each year
is Dr. Joe Gunselman’s affordable assemblage. Cabernet Sauvignon,
Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec impart black cherries and
smoky coffee, cedar and bittersweet chocolate. It’s an easy drinker with those
cherries and pomegranate, which gives it lots of acidity. The wealth of oak
and fine-grained tannins lends its opulence.
The 2008 Claret continues the winery’s tradition of excellence with
this well-structured blend of five red varietals.
