Magellan By the me you read this we will be into the last half term of the House compeon for this academic year. It is crucial that absolutely everyone pulls their weight in this next half term to ensure that we improve on our performance last year and challenge the seemingly invincible Armstrong House. Only with everyone doing their bit can we hope to challenge for the top spot. Year 11 students only have about 4 weeks le to make their contribuon so don’t be shy, do the deed, get the points and get them signed off. Current Tutor Group scores: A thought for Year 11 The harder you work now the beer you are likely to perform in your final Examinaons, the beer you perform the more choices you will have for next year, the more choices you have the more control you have over your own desny. If you don’t try you are likely to underperform your choices will be reduced, you will have very lile control over your own desny because you will only be able to do what someone else will let you do, not necessarily what you would like to do. Revision Tips: Make a metable for revising and sck to it. Don't waste me revising what you know you are good at, concentrate on areas of weakness. Just reading things is probably the least effecve way of revising; make sure you write things down as you do it. Have a go at doing some past exam quesons under exam condions. Make up some flash cards with key words and phrases on them. Use the BBC Bitesize and My Pershore web sites as a source of informaon. If you need something explaining again ask your teachers for extra help. Meet with your friends and revise together. When you are revising make sure you concentrate on what you are doing, there should be no other distracons. Keep yourself fed and watered, it will help you to concentrate. Don't overdo it, lile and oen is beer. Have a good Easter break and come back safe and ready to do what needs to be done. Mr Watson Miss McPherson Volunteers required at Norton Youth Club With around 100 young people on the register and around 50 aending each week we are looking for students who would like to help at Norton Youth Club, from cooking pizza, playing games, sports acvies or just chang. We have five adult helpers most weeks and have recently been awarded two grants to enable us to employ a qualified Youth Worker part me for the next two years Volunteers need to be 16 +, but we will be happy to consider anyone from Years 11, 12 or 13.
