6.0 - 2025 TRANSIT SYSTEM PLAN
6.1 Existing Transit Services in Oviedo:
Transit service in Oviedo is provided by LYNX with partial funding from the City of
Oviedo (approximately $80,500/year including ADA and Paratransit services). The
local fixed route (Link 47) currently operates six days a week (Monday – Saturday)
between the University of Central Florida (UCF) Superstop and Oviedo with daily
service characteristics shown in Table 6-1. Originally, the route operated a clockwise
and counterclockwise pattern, with route deviations to the Oviedo Campus of Seminole
Community College and and Reed Avenue (shown in Figure 6-1). Weekday and
Saturday service is operated at 60-minute service frequency throughout the entire day
alternating with clockwise and counter clockwise routes. Link 47 is not operated on
Sunday.
Updates to the service were put into place by Lynx in 2008 to eliminate the
clockwise/counter-clockwise pattern and simplify it to be an out and back service
between Oviedo Marketplace and UCF.

6.2 Monthly Route Performance:
According to LYNX’s recent Comprehensive Operations Analysis, Route 47 is a below
average-performing route, with an overall composite rank of 59 th (out of 60 routes) with
regards to route performance (Table 6-2). This route falls in the bottom quartile of
system performance on both weekdays and Saturdays. Below is a comparison of
Route 47 to the system key performance indicators and the route’s ranking out of the 60
system routes.
Table 6-3 provides a detailed summary of monthly Link 47 performance. The analysis
shows that the current route attracts just over 4,000 riders per month and that this level
