One reflective comment from a teacher stressed how <strong>the</strong> establishment <strong>of</strong> trust and an open approach was<br />

central <strong>to</strong> effective values education because ‘talking values with parents is a very emotional subject…people<br />

[need <strong>to</strong> be] comfortable sharing’ (Teacher reflection, post-project survey).<br />

Varied opportunities for collaboration<br />

In addition <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> many and varied opportunities for clusters <strong>to</strong> develop connections between teachers,<br />

students and parents, as described above, innovative contexts for relationship building were also evident<br />

across two clusters. Here students communicated via web 2.0 technologies and explored values learning<br />

online, as shown in <strong>the</strong> samples included below.<br />
