U.S. NAVY MPRA
Kurt Muller, Deputy Director, U.S. Navy,
Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance
Aircraft (MPRA) Programs, gave a briefing
updating the U.S. Navy's MPRA operations
worldwide and discussing where the P-3
fits in. The brief began with a breakdown
of the MPRA's organization and command
structure, and an overview of its global
operations.
The main point of Muller's brief was
how to keep the P-3s flying until the P-8A
Poseidon model becomes fully
operational. He asserted that through
funded sustainment programs, mission
systems sustainment programs, and
airframe sustainment programs, as well as
innovative maintenance plans, the U.S.
Navy P-3s and their variants should be able
to remain in service beyond 2020.
The brief also was designed to inform
