Objective: To discuss the pearls and pitfalls of implementation<br />
plan for electronic medical record in a large multidisciplinary<br />
practice.<br />
Summary of Content: The course will consist of an overview of<br />
the implementation process performed at the Cole Eye Institute,<br />
Cleveland Clinic in 2011. Discussion will consist of the selection<br />
of an EMR program, timelines, strategies for roll out, and a<br />
comparison of the various ophthalmology imaging repository<br />
systems. Clinical and practice related outcomes for<br />
ophthalmology are provided to the participants and suggested<br />
as a metrics.<br />
