Elevation-Based Corneal Tomography<br />

The course will address the methods used to interpret<br />

elevation-based tomographic maps of the cornea and their<br />

clinical applications. The advantages of elevation tomography<br />

versus curvature will be explained and emphasis will be placed<br />

on screening patients for refractive surgery and identifying<br />

normal and abnormal topographic patterns. The use of<br />

combined tomographic maps and pachymetric distribution will<br />

be discussed in screening for ectatic change. Emphasis will be<br />

placed on the importance of the posterior surface evaluation.<br />

The information will be relevant for allelevation based<br />

topography machines.<br />
