Elevation-Based Corneal Tomography
Chairperson: Michael Belin
The course will address the methods used to interpret
elevation-based tomographic maps of the cornea and their
clinical applications. The advantages of elevation tomography
versus curvature will be explained and emphasis will be placed
on screening patients for refractive surgery and identifying
normal and abnormal topographic patterns. The use of
combined tomographic maps and pachymetric distribution will
be discussed in screening for ectatic change. Emphasis will be
placed on the importance of the posterior surface evaluation.
The information will be relevant for allelevation based
topography machines.
