Retinopathy of Prematurity<br />

Objective: To provide the practicing ophthalmologist an<br />
update on the guidelines for treatment along with recent<br />
advances and newer trends in the management of retinopathy<br />
of prematurity.<br />
Summary of Content: Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is one<br />
of the leading causes infant blindness all the world over. This<br />
course is aimed at providing the general, pediatric and vitreoretinal<br />
surgeon an update on management protocols, newer<br />
trends and subspecialty specific information to be able to better<br />
understand and manage ROP in their respective practices.<br />
A section on emerging screening strategies, surgical and<br />
anti-VEGF protocols will also be discussed.<br />
Target Audience: Primarily aimed at pediatric ophthalmologists,<br />
retina and pediatric retina specialists, the course may also be<br />
attended by the comprehensive ophthalmologist with a<br />
ROP inclination.<br />

Posterior segment ocular trauma is a common cause of severe<br />
visual loss. Timely intervention can prevent complications and<br />
help to sustain useful vision throughout life. Every<br />
ophthalmologist should be aware of the management of<br />
fresh ocular trauma. Awareness also has medico and legal<br />
implications. This course is aimed at comprehensive<br />
ophthalmologists and retinologists. After every didactic lecture,<br />
which will be aptly supported by video demonstrations, there<br />
will be audience interaction also.<br />
