16. Theft<br />
16.1 If medicines under the care of a member of staff are lost or stolen then the<br />
member of staff must take action immediately to inform their line manager, the<br />
police and the <strong>Trust</strong> Head of Security. The Serious Untoward Incident<br />
Investigation <strong>Policy</strong> must be followed.<br />
16.2 If theft of medicines by a member of staff is suspected the matter should be<br />
reported to the line manager and <strong>Trust</strong> Head of Security. The <strong>Trust</strong> Head of<br />
Security is responsible for deciding on what further action should be taken.<br />
