2.3.3 Communicate and Educate<br />
The goal of the Oly mpic Mov ement is to c ontribute to educ ate youth through the<br />
prac tice of sport and to promote ethic al v alues. The importance of sustainable<br />
dev elopment must form an integral part of this educ ational project w hich places sport<br />
at the s erv ice of humanity.<br />
Therefore, sports organizations s hould undertake regular actions at the c ommunity<br />
level to foster communication and to promote environmenta ly sound behav ior, in<br />
cooperation w ith other entities conc erned by this issue.<br />
A large number of actions may be undertaken at different lev els and adapted to each<br />
community's needs. Some of these ac tions c ould be to:<br />
Communicate and Educate<br />
• use exis ting sports ev ents to promote messages in favour of environmental ethics,<br />
draw ing on the support of w ell-know n athletes and local leaders<br />
• incorporate the theme of sport and environment in s eminars, w orks hops and<br />
training sess ions
