Experiential Learning & Learning Styles
Test results:
• Activist = 70%
• Reflectionist = 30%
• Theorist = 0%
• Pragmatist = 60%
Tasks:
1) Make a description / analysis of your learning style profile
Even though the test results suggest otherwise, the activist learning style is the
most dominant learning style for me.
Most of the activist aspects apply to me, but i do prefer to work alone in most
cases. Also i don't usually leads discussions.
Even though the activist learning style is the most dominant style for me all of
the general aspects of the pragmatist learning style also apply to me.
2) What do you perceive as your strengths and weaknesses of your
preferred learning style?
My strengths would be my open minded attitude, which sometimes can be
limited by my tendency to look for the most practical solution.
My impulsive nature gives to the ability to get quickly started with an
assignment, but my lack of patience with theoretical work can sometimes lead
to situations where a unforseen problem occures.
3) Do you have any strengths in the other learning styles that you can use
constructively?
I am able to stand back and observe as a reflectionist, and use the information i
gather, to create new ideas to solve the problem that is at hand.

4) What will you do to become a more flexible learner?
To become a more flexible learner i must learn to incorporate more of the
theorist aspects into my learning style, as it is the point where i lack the most,
mainly because of my impatience and lack of interest, with theoretical stuff.
5) Try to formulate 2-3 significant learning objectives for the next half
year that can help make you a more flexible learner.
1. Become better to incorporate theoretical learning style into my own learning
style to improve my theoretical abilities, which at the momemt is limited.
2. Further improve my reflectionist learning style and become better to gather
more information before i start working.
3. Improve my ability to stay focused on the current task, since i easily get
distracted and tend to loose focuse if i become bored.
