7. Work Areas<br />

Be prepared to provide reasonable accommodations to make work areas<br />

accessible to staff, board members, panelists, volunteers, per<strong>for</strong>mers,<br />

technicians and others with disabilities. Work areas should be clear of<br />

protruding objects. Aisles and passageways should be kept unobstructed,<br />

well lit and safe <strong>for</strong> individuals who are blind or have low vision. A person<br />

who uses a wheelchair or other mobility aid should be able to get<br />

com<strong>for</strong>tably into and out of work areas and be able to use and reach<br />

workstations, operate equipment, use the restrooms and take advantage<br />

of break rooms, lounges and cafeterias.
