Multiple Directory Databases on One Machine
A single machine can host many discrete directory images. This is useful for
testing on separately managed production and testing databases or for
partitioning your directory into separate databases.
Hot Swap
Change Database
Name While DSA
Active
You can change the database name while the DSA is active without
disconnecting or disrupting directory clients, using the following command:
set database-name = newdb;
where newdb is the name of another RDBMS database, which must already
exist.
You can switch to a newly reorganized database, a hot standby copy, or a
restored copy by using the hot swap of a database.
