PRIORITY ACTIVITIES<br />
• Establish an inter-agency team to review the key<br />
initiatives including the Human Resource for <strong>Health</strong><br />
strategy and the incentive package and develop<br />
pragmatic solutions to guide its implementation.<br />
• Negotiate with MOFEP for the decentralisation <strong>of</strong> the<br />
human resource budget to the health sector<br />
• Train auxiliary medical and nursing staff for the lower<br />
levels especially for the CHPS program. This should<br />
take into consideration the clear functions <strong>of</strong> these<br />
cadres and the role expected <strong>of</strong> them.<br />
• Re-distribution <strong>of</strong> personnel to ensure equitable<br />
distribution.<br />
• Strengthen the human resource information system to<br />
ensure regular up-date so as to eliminate the incidence<br />
<strong>of</strong> ghost workers.<br />
• Re-engage health workers who return from overseas<br />
• Motivate staff through performance appraisals<br />
• Strengthen collaboration with District Assemblies/other<br />
partners<br />
