Teachers for Tomorrow
Why are you interested in teaching?
Whoopi Goldberg stars in ―Sister Act 2‖. Whoopi plays Sister
Clearance, who is trying to convince her minority students ―if you
want to be somebody and you want to go somewhere, you better
wake up and pay attention.‖ I was a senior at West High School. I
had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I knew I wanted to
get somewhere but, I did not know what I wanted to become.
About the fifth week of the semester in high school I was in my
favorite class at that time, Child Development. I was teaching four
year-olds to count to ten. At that moment I realized I wanted to
become an Early Childhood Educator. Suddenly, I thought about
what I wanted to become. I knew what I wanted to become but,
now I needed to wake up and pay attention on how to get there.
