Math Education
Why are you interested in teaching?
My math teachers were my favorite teachers in middle and
high school. They taught me that I can do anything I set my
mind to. They told me that if I follow my dreams and work
hard, I could succeed. I want to be this kind of teacher. My
goal in life is to make a difference. I can‘t think of a better way
to make a difference than to become a teacher.
How will receiving these scholarships benefit you?
These scholarships make a world of difference! I was very
worried about being able to pay for my last year of school. I
know that during my cohort year I will have limited time to
work. The scholarships will help a lot with this stress so that I
will be able to better focus on my schooling and student
teaching.
About Ashley
Ashley loves math and has always wanted to teach. Last
summer, she participated in a program on a Navajo reservation
that linked math and culture.
