Chemistry between
three business groups
Tessenderlo Group is a diversified,
international group active in many areas of
the chemical industry, plastics converting,
gelatin, pharma and natural derivatives.
The group is characterised by an extensive
integration of its activities.
Tessenderlo Group’s activities are divided
into three business groups:
• Chemicals with two business units;
inorganics and pvc/chlor-alkali;
• Plastics converting and its business
units profiles, plastic pipe systems and
compounds;
• Specialities with its business units
fine chemicals, gelatin and natural
derivatives.
To emphasise the cohesion of some of the
group’s activities and to link them even
better to the strategy of the group, the
business groups will be reshuffeld as
from 1 January 2009:
• Chemicals will, in addition to sulfates,
phosphates and PVC/chlor-alkali, include
the organic chlorine derivatives coming
from fine chemicals. Tessenderlo Kerley
moves to the Specialities business group.
• Plastics converting remains the same;
• Specialities adds Tessenderlo Kerley to
its portfolio. It also includes pharma,
gelatin and products of natural origin.

integral part of our everyday lives and
are used in various applications, from
high-quality fertilisers and animal feed to
medicine and car dashboards. A little bit
