Outlook for 2009
The expectations for the PVC compounds
market are not very favourable. There is
no indication that any of these sectors
will improve in the near future, and
especially not in the construction industry.
These activities are faced with two major
challenges. Firstly, to increase margins
to an acceptable level as a result of the
decreasing raw material prices. Secondly,
the production structures must be adjusted
to the lower volumes and the future
evolution of the market.

Margins are also a major concern for the
thermoplastic elastomers. It is expected
that they will reach their normal level
in 2009, considering the higher sales
prices and the lower raw material prices.
