Theatre Of Food For THE LOve of FOOD! In February 2012 a pizza store like no other opened at Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. Our ‘Theatre of Food’ store is the first of its kind, incorporating a specially-designed dough room, open plan makeline and dramatic cut bench, and in-store and outdoor seating for up to 100 hungry customers. Our fresh, quality ingredients are also right in front of the customer….right there for them to see their pizza made from start to finish. There’s more to food than just great taste, from the way it’s made fresh in front of the customers eyes to the way they enjoy it with friends. Our new store is all about bringing this experience to life, tantalising their tastebuds, awakening their senses and taking their eyes on a journey through our open kitchen. While the large open space of the Surfers Paradise store enabled us to create a large ‘Theatre of Food’, our traditional stores are more compact in size. Key elements such as bringing the dough making and pizza making to the front of the store will be incorporated into our new store refurbishments over time. The softer tones, wood detailing, local photography murals and recycled materials will also be instrumental in creating stores that blend into their local community. An exclusive mezzanine level provides a community space which can be hired out for local events and functions. Domino’s is passionate about pizza, our people, the community and our environment and this store is a unique blend of these values. From the recycled materials used to create the store to the communal dining tables and open space, we have created a store that forms part of the local community. NEW MARKetinG - SHOWCAsinG our FOOD With a focus on the quality and authenticity of our food we wanted to showcase our passion for great products in our communication to customers. We wanted to do this in a way that brought the ‘Theatre of Food’ to them without even stepping into our latest store design. Our new chalkboard design encompasses our love of great food and focus on quality ingredients. It’s classic, authentic and simple. From our television commercials and letterbox leaflets to in-store posters and menu boards, our new design lets the food speak for itself. The hand-drawn features and rustic tones represent our commitment to freshly handmade dough and pizzas that are prepared fresh for every order, while the use of key ingredients and product features are used to entice the taste buds. France and Belgium With record new store openings during the past 12 months, Domino’s presence in France and Belgium is growing stronger. New store designs, featuring softer wood panelling and the relocation of the make line closer to customer view have been rolled out across France. The new store design is helping to attract new customers to stores and make the Domino’s experience more enjoyable. In March, Domino’s was proud to open its 200th store in France since becoming the master franchisee for the country in 2005. The opening in Poissy, an area of Paris, was a milestone occasion celebrated with local team members and media. Drive thru stores Convenience and exceptional service are two key factors we know pizza lovers look for when ordering their favourite meal. The recent introduction of a Domino’s drive thru service brought a whole new meaning to the traditional way of picking up your pizza! The store in Box Hill, Victoria, offers customers the option of picking up their order from the comfort of their car. With the drive thru service proving to be successful with time-poor customers, Domino’s has since rolled out more drive thru stores across Australia including Echuca (Victoria), Doncaster, Hervey Bay (Queensland) and Rockhampton (Queensland). The Netherlands Creating a welcoming environment for our customers to order and enjoy their pizza has been the focus of store designs in The Netherlands. With Australia’s ‘Theatre of Food’ design used as inspiration, Dutch stores have introduced key elements such as bringing the back of the store into customer view, softer wood colour tones and redesigned menus.
