Attendance Strong For<br />

Richmond Expo<br />

Richmond, Va.–<br />

<strong>The</strong><br />

largest exhibition of equipment for the forest products<br />

industry in the Eastern U.S. in 2008 recently<br />

boasted more <strong>than</strong> 250 exhibitors at the Richmond<br />

Expo, held here.<br />

Th<strong>is</strong> biennial trade show touted a high retention<br />

rate of exhibitors who d<strong>is</strong>played their goods during<br />

the 2006 Expo. <strong>The</strong> Richmond Expo <strong>is</strong> held at the<br />

Richmond International Raceway with more <strong>than</strong><br />

12 acres of outdoor exhibit space and hundreds of<br />

booths indoors. <strong>The</strong> Expo features more <strong>than</strong><br />

500,000 square feet of equipment exhibits.<br />

Suppliers provide product demonstrations with<br />

machinery functioning under actual working conditions.<br />

Among the active d<strong>is</strong>plays are logging<br />

equipment, pallet recycling equipment, automated<br />

pallet nailing machines, sawmills and <strong>lumber</strong><br />

remanufacturing.<br />

An added feature at th<strong>is</strong> year’s Expo was the Total<br />

Productive Maintenance (TPM) workshop. TPM <strong>is</strong><br />
