Facilities<br />
4. Lockers<br />
Lockers will be available to students to lodge their bags, books, and other<br />
personal belongings. Bags are not allowed inside the IRC.<br />
Students are provided the lock and key for the lockers. Keys shall be<br />
returned to the coordinator after they are through with the use of IRC.<br />
Students who fail to return the keys will be held responsible for replacing<br />
the lost key.<br />
5. Using Internet Services<br />
(Printing, Scanning, and CD/DVD Burning, others)<br />
Students who wish to avail of other services should proceed to the service<br />
area and request for assistance from the IRC coordinators.<br />
Printing, scanning, CD/DVD burning, fax and telephone services will be<br />
charged the appropriate fees.<br />
6. Monitoring and Documentation of Students and Guests<br />
IRC staff will be monitoring all tasks and activities of users and guests.<br />
She will call the attention of students and guests who are noisy, causing<br />
disruption, or are not abiding by the policies, rules, and procedures of the IRC.<br />
Guests will be required to have a separate permit from PDO for the use<br />
of the IRC and seek endorsement from the unit/office they come from.<br />
Guest access should be approved by PDO and likewise subject to the<br />
availability of computers at the IRC. Since the IRC is primarily designed for<br />
student use, PDO reserves the right to disapprove guest access, if necessary.<br />
All incidents requiring the attention of PDO will be reported immediately<br />
to the office for appropriate action.<br />
Special Services<br />
The following services are under the supervision of the Administrative<br />
Services Coordinator and are offered to all Miriam College students.<br />
1. Health Service<br />
The college maintains a well-equipped medical and dental clinic as part of its<br />
health program. During the school year, all students are required to undergo<br />
a physical examination conducted by the College Clinic staff. Should medical<br />
and dental treatment be required as a result of this examination, the student’s<br />
parents are notified and referral is made to the student’s family physician.<br />
A nurse is available during school hours. She keeps a medical and dental<br />
record of each student.<br />
2. Food Service<br />
Food Service for the college is available at the Cafeteria, which is maintained<br />
by a concessionaire. Snacks, hot meals and beverages are available daily from<br />
7:30 AM–5:00 PM.<br />
3. Telephone Service<br />
Public telephones are available for students’ use on campus. All students<br />
are expected to use these prudently. Students may not use office telephones.<br />
4. Locker Room<br />
The Locker Room has 886 lockers and 12 shower rooms that are available<br />
for the students. A minimal fee is charged for the use of the lockers.<br />
5. Parking<br />
Adequate parking space is provided for students and other campus visitors.<br />
Proper traffic and parking regulations are expected to be followed by everyone.<br />
6. Bookstore<br />
Books, compilations, handouts, school supplies and other miscellaneous items<br />
may be purchased at the College Bookstore.<br />
