Provides work training and supportive employment for severe to profoundly disabled adults. Eligibility: Must be<br />

The mission of the <strong>Kitsap</strong> County Parent Coalition is to promote a better quality of life for individuals with<br />

developmental disabilities and their families by providing support through advocacy, education and sharing<br />

information. They offer monthly meetings, speakers and special topics. Advisory committee, workshop and training<br />

opportunities, information about programs and services for people with developmental disabilities and their families.<br />

They also provide information about parent rights and responsibilities, monthly newsletter, community projects and a<br />

resource library.<br />

Provides persons with disabilities help to remain living on their own. Help with money management, hygiene,<br />

shopping skills, and cooking. Participant must apply at DSHS division of developmental disabilities.<br />

Parents working with other parents to help them learn about rights of their handicapped children. Workshops and<br />

training available. Provides support & accompany parents to school meetings. They participate in a variety of<br />

community efforts to improve services for handicapped children and adults.<br />
