WATER REACTIVE CHEMICALS<br />

Characteristics • Warning: These chemicals react with water to yield flammable or toxic gases or<br />

other hazardous conditions.<br />

Storage • Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated location<br />

Precautions • Avoid water or moisture<br />

• Beyond immediate work area<br />

• Causing personal injury<br />

• Evaluate the area<br />

• Keep material dry<br />

• Do not use water, carbon dioxide, or halon on material; use dry chemical ABC or<br />

D-type extinguisher<br />

• Avoid breathing vapors<br />

• Wear appropriate personal protection<br />

• Keep upwind<br />

First Aid • Move victim to fresh air<br />

• Remove contaminated clothing<br />

• Wipe material from skin immediately<br />

• In case of contact, flush skin or eyes with water for at least 15 minutes<br />
