INTRODUCTION
The total number of securities traded in 2007 reached 4.534 million, which
represents a year-to-year increase of 58,31%, compared with 2.864 million the
previous year.
The most highly traded shares in turnover were “Marfin Popular Bank Public Co
Ltd” shares, with a total of €815,3 million (20,91%), followed by the “Bank οf
Cyprus Public Company Ltd” shares with €725,3 million (18,6%).
Total funds raised during the year 2007 reached EUR 1.07 billion compared to
EUR 1,7 billion the previous year, registering a decrease of 38,4%.
The figures above included the new share issues (IPOs) (12,34%), issue of Rights
(1,98%), conversion of securities to shares (4,58%), Corporate Bonds (1,90%),
Treasury Bills (7,97%), Government Bonds (70,69%) and share issues (SPOs)
(0,53%).
