The implementation of these initiatives has been made possible by the service improvement<br />

support, skills and resources provided to WC<strong>PHO</strong> by Compass Health as its MSO. Further<br />

detail on the achievements and capability of Compass Health are set out in the Compass<br />

Health CCDHB Mid Central DHB, and the regional Compass Health <strong>EOI</strong> responses.<br />

4.3 Relationships and partnerships<br />

WC<strong>PHO</strong> has a strong relationship with <strong>Wairarapa</strong> DHB. WC<strong>PHO</strong> and DHB Funding and<br />

Planning staff work jointly on the Primary Care Section of the DHB District Annual Plan. The<br />

<strong>PHO</strong> and its contracted providers work closely with the DHB provider arm, and have recently<br />

been closely involved in developing the <strong>Wairarapa</strong> DHB Clinical Services Action Plan<br />

(references).<br />

WC<strong>PHO</strong> has sound linkages with the local Māori community through the two Iwi<br />

representatives appointed to the <strong>PHO</strong> Board. Both the Rangitāne and Ngati Kahungunu Iwi<br />

representatives and the DHB Iwi Kainga (Māori Health Committee) are directly consulted on<br />

significant issues. Both Iwi support this <strong>EOI</strong>.<br />

All seven Medical Centres in the <strong>Wairarapa</strong> are contracted providers to WC<strong>PHO</strong>. The <strong>PHO</strong><br />

and Compass Health have strong linkages to the Medical Centres and provide Register<br />

Management, Programme Management, some general Practice support and quality<br />

improvement services and Continuing Professional Development. WC<strong>PHO</strong> has contracts and<br />
