1966 <strong>NACE</strong> Conference<br />
<strong>The</strong> Sixth Annual <strong>NACE</strong> Management-Research Conference was held in Cleveland, Ohio, March<br />
31-April 2, 1966. <strong>The</strong> principle concern <strong>of</strong> the Research Committee activity was the completion<br />
<strong>of</strong> the Research Program before funds were exhausted.<br />
It was announced that an application had been made to the Federal Office <strong>of</strong> Economic<br />
Development for a demonstration project in six counties, using <strong>NACE</strong> materials in their operations.<br />
<strong>The</strong> proposal was for <strong>NACE</strong> to organize and supervise these demonstration projects.<br />
1966 NACO Conference<br />
<strong>NACE</strong> participated in the Annual NACO Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, July 17-20, 1966.<br />
During the <strong>NACE</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Directors meeting, which was held during the conference, Dean L.<br />
Morgan was introduced as the replacement for Howard Bussard at ASF.<br />
A proposed group insurance program was submitted by<br />
John Benson, Howard Bussard, and Bill Harrington to the<br />
NACO Board <strong>of</strong> Directors for approval. <strong>The</strong> NACO Board<br />
tabled action and approached the <strong>NACE</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficers, <strong>The</strong><br />
<strong>NACE</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Directors referred the matter to the<br />
Executive Committee who scheduled a meeting for<br />
September in Lake Delton, Wisconsin.<br />
It was reported that ASF would provide their final grant <strong>of</strong><br />
$10,000 to complete the manual project. <strong>The</strong> <strong>NACE</strong> Board<br />
decided that all work on manuals in production should be<br />
rushed to completion and published by the end <strong>of</strong> the year,<br />
with the exception <strong>of</strong> the Maintenance Manual which could<br />
not be completed within the time frame a ailable<br />
<strong>The</strong> Awards Committee announced the recipients <strong>of</strong> the<br />
Engineer <strong>of</strong> the Year Awards <strong>The</strong> following recipients<br />
were duly recognized and honored.<br />
