1966 NACE Conference
The Sixth Annual NACE Management-Research Conference was held in Cleveland, Ohio, March
31-April 2, 1966. The principle concern of the Research Committee activity was the completion
of the Research Program before funds were exhausted.
It was announced that an application had been made to the Federal Office of Economic
Development for a demonstration project in six counties, using NACE materials in their operations.
The proposal was for NACE to organize and supervise these demonstration projects.
1966 NACO Conference
NACE participated in the Annual NACO Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, July 17-20, 1966.
During the NACE Board of Directors meeting, which was held during the conference, Dean L.
Morgan was introduced as the replacement for Howard Bussard at ASF.
A proposed group insurance program was submitted by
John Benson, Howard Bussard, and Bill Harrington to the
NACO Board of Directors for approval. The NACO Board
tabled action and approached the NACE officers, The
NACE Board of Directors referred the matter to the
Executive Committee who scheduled a meeting for
September in Lake Delton, Wisconsin.
It was reported that ASF would provide their final grant of
$10,000 to complete the manual project. The NACE Board
decided that all work on manuals in production should be
rushed to completion and published by the end of the year,
with the exception of the Maintenance Manual which could
not be completed within the time frame a ailable
The Awards Committee announced the recipients of the
Engineer of the Year Awards The following recipients
were duly recognized and honored.
