session. The FHWA position on the 1972 Federal Highway Act was presented by FHWA Deputy Administrator, Ralph Bartlesmeyer. During the business meeting, William Maslin reported that the Highway Users Federation for Safety and Mobility (HUFSAM) had contributed $4,000.00 towards printing the series of seventeen (17) manuals presently in various stages of completion. He stating that eight action guides have been printed, two are in composition stage, four are in final review and three are still being written. He also said the are scheduling six workshops throughout the U.S. in 1972 and four in 1973. The following recipients of the Engineer of The Year Awards were recognized and duly honored: Rural Engineer of the Year Urban Engineer of the Year Wendell P. Huber Ottertail County, Minnesota Cecil D. Kinder Clark County, Washington County Commissioner Arch Lamb, Lubbock County, Texas, installed the newly elected NACE officers at a noon luncheon on June 27th.
