continues to expand and offers access to GIS<br />
technical in<strong>for</strong>mation, periodicals, software<br />
manuals, and other source materials. All review<br />
software packages are cataloged and made<br />
available <strong>for</strong> students to access. Newspaper,<br />
magazine, and newsletter articles (see<br />
appendices A and D) written by <strong>CAST</strong> staff or<br />
written about <strong>CAST</strong> appeared this year in print in<br />
various media.<br />
DEMONSTRATIONS, TOURS, TALKS, AND<br />
ASSISTANCE TO THE PUBLIC.<br />
<strong>CAST</strong> staff regularly participate in, sponsor, and<br />
lead demonstrations, tours, talks, workshops,<br />
meetings, etc. in GIS technologies, archaeology,<br />
<strong>for</strong>estry, biological sciences, architecture, and<br />
many others. Over 500 events occur each year.<br />
<strong>CAST</strong> staff receive requests <strong>for</strong> in<strong>for</strong>mation via<br />
email, phone, and through <strong>CAST</strong>'s website.<br />
Hundreds of requests <strong>for</strong> in<strong>for</strong>mation are<br />
honored each year, many from faculty, staff, and<br />
students here on campus. Each of these<br />
requests is handled on a one-on-one basic.<br />
