In the mouse, most OSNs expressing asingle olfactory receptor project their axons to twosymmetrically bilateral glomeruli within the OB. How doOSN axons select their target glomeruli in the complexthree dimensional target field that represents an OB? The targetchoice of OSN axons appears to rely on a combination ofmolecular determinants that enhance the growth of axons tothe OB, promote their segregation into broad regions of theOB to <strong>for</strong>m a crude topography and then favor their sortingand coalescence into specific glomeruli.
