The match was held later inthe year because we actually have totum off our air conditioners in November. Some competitors had recentlycompleted both Nationalsand came to continue their winningways or recover their respect. Competitorscame from as far away asAlaska to run and gun in the sun.We were a little restricted byrange dimensions, but the Eustisclub members were excellent hosts, and the range is expanding with thepossibility of hosting next year'smatch. The competitors were splitabout evenly between Limited andOpen, and the Limited division wasvery competitive. 'The seven coursesof fire required more than 200rounds.Stage 1, "Whipping Post," wassponsored by Shooters Connectionand required the shooter to remainon a vertical post while firing therequired 24 rounds. Stage 2, "OutWith A Bang," was a 33-round fieldcourse sponsored by Gun Doc. Stage3, "Ambidexterity," sponsored byBlount, was a 30-round mirror imagecourse that allowed people whoshoot left-handed a real chance.Stage 4, "No Stinkin' Badges,"sponsored by VihtaVuori Oy, was a24-round field course that requiredfast shooting and thinking whichproved to be a difficult task forsome. Stage 5, "Stinking Ports,"sponsored by Gun Craft, Inc, requiredthe competitor to fire all 36rounds through or around sometype of port or opening. Stage 6,"Pluckin' Turkey," sponsored byCaspian Arms, required the shooterto start with the Thanksgiving turkeyin hand before beginning the 29-round course. No one offered to takethe bird home for the big dinner.Stage 7, "Wac-A-Doo," was sponsoredby Wayne Bergquist and required31 rounds while zigzaggingthrough ports and barrels. The fun was made possible bythe generous donations of our sponsorswithout whom it would not bepossible, and I urge all competitorsto support the companies that supportus. This match also had individualswho gave their time arid effortsto make it happen: AssistantMatch Director Dan Beagle, StatisticianWadette Elrod, Prize CoordinatorKim Stroud, Range Masters DennisShattuck and Ray Lambert, andBusiness Manager Brian Karabaich.'The stages were constructed andmarmed by clubs from around thestate, and the energy and effort theydisplayed are to be commended. This was truly a labor of love by theclubs and their members whoserved as range officers. We tried tofocus on the competitor and designa challenging and fun match. The Open winners were: JoeKessler, high overall; Kim Stroud, high lady; Jeff Dixon, first GrandMaster; David Pruitt, first Master;Bob Donaldson, first A; Bryan Lenz, first B; Jim Bermel, first C; GlennaDoty, first D; and David Gatlin, highlaw enforcement. The Limited winners were:Danny Clifton, high overall; ArmandoValdes, first Grand Master;Stanley Beishline, first Master; J.
