Start and Stop the Debugger• Debug two or more frames at the same time to solve concurrencyproblems• Reassign specific values to variables during debuggingYou can perform these debugging functions individually or simultaneously.While the application is running in the Debugger, you can set breakpoints, stepthrough code, monitor a session, do stack backtracing, examine data values,and examine the event queue. For more information, see the section thatdescribes the type of testing you want to perform.Start and Stop the DebuggerYou can access the Debugger through OpenROAD menu commands andtoolbar buttons and use it as your application runs.You can set debugging functions before running your application or at anypoint while the application executes.To start the Debugger1. Click the Develop tab in OpenROAD Workbench.2. Select the application to debug in the Applications portlet.3. Click Run, Debug or click the Debug toolbar button.4. The Debugging application_name window appears.To stop the Debugger1. In the Debugger, click File, Close.The Debugger: Closing with Stopped Application dialog appears.2. How You Can Test an ApplicationHow You Can Test an ApplicationOpenROAD Workbench lets you test your application at any point during thedevelopment process. Without leaving Workbench, you can run yourapplication as the user sees it.When you test an application, OpenROAD uses the working version, whichincludes any changes you have made to application components, even if theyhave not been saved or checked in. If there are compilation errors, OpenROADdoes not run the application.Debug a Single ApplicationYou can debug applications one at a time in the OpenROAD Workbench.To debug a single application1. Click the Develop tab.2. Select the application in the Applications portlet.3. Click Run, Debug or click the Debug toolbar button.4. The Debugging application_name window appears.Debug Multiple ApplicationsYou can debug several applications in the same database concurrently inOpenROAD Workbench. You can test any number of different applications (butnot more than one instance of a single application) at the same time.To debug multiple applications1. Click the Develop tab.2. Select the first application in the Applications portlet.3. Click Run, Debug or click the Debug toolbar button.4. The Debugging application_name window appears.5. Select the second application in the the Applications portlet.6. Click Run, Debug or click the Debug toolbar button.7.
