Chapter 6Permissible Ruqyah | .Ruqyah is a method for healing, through some parts of the Qur’an and Sunnah of the Prophet . Supplications for healing could be for a good number of diseases, sicknesses of the heart (arrogance, showing off, hatred, jealousy, etc.), depression, loneliness, evil eye, magic, jinn possession, and Shaytaan’s attacks. Ar-Ruqyah Ash-Shara’iyahThe following are the verses from the Qur’an concerning theconcept of healing:“And We send down of the Qur'an that which is healing and mercy for the believers.” (Al-‘Isra’, 17:82) “O mankind, there has to come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers.” (Yunus,10:57) The scholars are unanimously agreed that it is permissible to use ruqyah if three conditions are met: it should based on the words of Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, or His names or His attributes; it should be in Arabic or in words the meaning of which can be understood; and it should be accepted that ruqyah does not have any effect in and of itself, rather that happens by the will and decree of Allah.
