In Your hand is all goodness and You are able to do all things. Most Merciful and Most compassionate in this world and in the Hereafter, You give them to whomsoever You will and withhold them from whomsoever You will. Bestow mercy upon me in such a manner that I have no need of the mercy of anyone but You.” (At-Tabarani, 558) Laa ilaaha illallaahul kareemul Hakeem. SubHaanahu wa tabaarakallaahu rabbul ‘arshil ‘aDHeem. Wal Hamdu lillaahi rabbil ‘aalameen. Al-Karb wal-Hamm“None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, the Generous, the Wise. Glorious is Allah, and Blessed is Allah Lord of the Magnificent Throne. And all praise is due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.” (Ahmad, 91/1) Allaahumma Salli wa sallim wa baarik 'ala nabiyyina MuHammadin Sallallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam. “O Allah, send your peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad .” (Takhrijah) - 96 -
Chapter 8<strong>Remembrance</strong> of Allah in the Morningand in the Evening 17 | .Allah, the Exalted, says:“And remember your Rabb by your tongue and within yourself, humbly and with fear and without loudness in words in the mornings, and in the afternoons and be not of those who are neglectful.” (Al-‘A’raf, 7:205) . “And declare the perfectness of your Rabb before the rising of the sun, and before its setting.” (Taha, 20:130) As-Sabaah wal-Masaa’"And declare the perfectness of your Rabb and praise Him in the `Ashi (i.e., the time period after the midnoon till sunset) and in the Ibkar (i.e., the time period from early morning or sunrise till before midnoon).'' (Ghafir, 40:55) “Verily, We made the mountains to declare the Perfectness of Allah with him [Dawud (David)] in the `Ashi (i.e., after the midday till sunset) and Ishraq (i.e., after the sunrise till midday).” (Sad, 38:18) . Abud-‐Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah said, "Shall I not inform you of the best of your actions which are the purest to your Rabb, which exalt you to the high ranks, which are more efficacious than spending gold and silver (in charity), and better for you than you should encounter your enemies whom you will smite their necks and they will smite your necks?'' They said, "Certainly.'' He said, "<strong>Remembrance</strong> of Allah the Exalted.” (At-Tirmidhi) Note: This Hadith also tells us about the eminence of remembrance of Allah, as the basis of every good deed is remembrance of Allah andexpression of one's devotion and obedience to Him. Withoutthese two, even the greatest virtue is useless and is of no value. Thus, we must always bear it in mind that remembrance of Allah is superior to everything else. 17 Riyad-us-Saliheen- 97 -
